A place for "cake and a piece of quiet!"
A welcoming hub for both locals and visitors, the Village Café is based in St Oswald's Church Hall, next to St Oswald's Church, Fulford. Open three mornings a week: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 9am – 12 noon during term times (including halfterms). SOMETHING FOR EVERY TASTE
The café serves a selection of delicious fair-trade coffees, teas and hot chocolates, and a range of mouth-watering homemade cakes, scones and biscuits, lovingly prepared to a very high standard by our volunteers. Chocolate marble cake, lemon drizzle cake, feather-light sponges, gooey chocolate brownies, fruit and cheese scones. There are now 3 choices of delicious gluten free bakes and also a vegan chocolate brownie...there's always something fresh to tempt every taste, every day! The café is the ideal venue for a morning break, in a relaxing setting with special space for both children and adults who want some time out.
SO WHAT'S HAPPENING AT THE CAFE?
We have a monthly local councillor’s surgery who meet in the café so ‘you can raise your local concerns. Also OKAY-the local advocacy service- meets at the same time so help can be sought quickly.
Would you like a lift to the Café or someone to walk in with you? Call us and we will do all we can do to help.
